Here is Galip. In English it means "winner". In 2018, I graduated as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer with an honor certificate (as 8th in the faculty). I've spent the past 8+ years focusing on different areas of engineering, and coding; web development (front-end and back-end), data scraping, faraday cages, sensor—measurements etc. Many more things can be listed here, but I do not want to distract you with technical or theoretical names. More on my resume or timeline.
I've always been someone who has both a creative and a logical side. Many books I read until I discovered my sides, I notice now that books supported my creative site. For example, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams gave me the idea of building a universe of my own. Then I came across HTML with which I can realize this universe in a virtual environment. It was my greatest wish for people to contribute to this universe, and to achieve it I met ASP and many data/databases. These two languages made an impression on me like Arthur Dent in the book hitchhiked and escaped from the world: I would design my world as I wanted with HTML and CSS, I would be able to make this world work and interact with ASP. I coded a “forum” that was trendy at that time, and developed it with the contributions/posts of people. This is how my life changed with a book, the codes appearing on my screen.
Downhill all the way! I learned PHP, because ASP was not enough for the universe, and it started to slow down people's posts rates. At the same time, PHP became a rising trend with Facebook. Ofcourse, back then, Facebook didn't consist of 6 million lines of code like it is now. But it helped to end a code war and made PHP a shining star.
PHP brought with it a new database server: mySQL. The only thing I love in this life! Sorry for the exaggeration, libras like that :), maybe I also love to travel in this life! Well, I can say mySQL is one of the things I love in this life! MySQL was more professional, fast, compact and of course more fun than the Microsoft Access I used when working with ASP. Also, even better, we were getting things done with SQL commands!
I nurtured my logical side while building algorithms with ASP, PHP and SQL. In addition, I grew and developed my creative side with HTML and CSS.
Overtime, I decided to become an engineer, to discover the systems/hardwares where algorithms work, and there I met languages such as Python and Java. I drew plots on Matlab using mostly Python, started to process the data I received from the sensors and to obtain images.
While I was wondering about the areas affected by Python, I encountered subjects such as data mining and this reminded me of the book I gave at the beginning. It was very exciting to get data from websites or the endless and meaningless datasets I had, to process them and make them meaningful, like the few memories Arthur took from the planets. I attended courses related to this and got certificates from them. But most importantly, I had the opportunity to encounter many python libraries such as TensorFlow, NumPy, Pandas, Matplatlib, SciKit-Learn etc..
I am a person who is curious, who pursues curiosity, who reaches the end of curiosity with success and knowledge. I am curious about everything I am interested in, I try to learn everything about what I am interested in with my curiosity, and I care that the result of my effort is success.
